Emelwerda College
The Emelwerda College in Emmeloord is a large comprehensive school in the youngest Dutch province, Flevoland.
It has over 1600 students from 12 to 18 years and about 140 teachers. The school’s motto is to help students to develop their talents.
The school is situated in an agricultural area and most students are aware of different cultures and habits.
Our school population includes a mixture of students with different ethnic backgrounds.
The fact that they are familiar with these different backgrounds does not automatically result in acceptance.
During the past 10 years the school has actively been participating in various Comenius and Erasmus+ projects.
European projects can help our students to overcome prejudices and become open minded citizens with more positive self-consciousness
