Hof

Hof was a municipality in Vestfold county, Norway, until its merge into Holmestrand on 1st January, 2018. The administrative centre of the former municipality was the village of Hof.

Hof is located about 80 kilometres south of Oslo and the school has a total of 430 students, 300 students in primary school and 130 students in secondary school.

There is a canteen for the students in secondary school and they are co-responsible for running it. The school also has a nice library that offers a wide variety of books.

The school’s motto is: “A HAPPY SCHOOL WITH ACTIVE AND CURIOUS STUDENTS”.

One of the school’s advantages is that it is surrounded by nature which provides us with many opportunities.

We try to use it actively by going across the country, skiing in the winter, cycling, canoeing and hiking.

The life index in Norway showed that the average education level in Hof is lower than in the rest of the country.

A large number of people in Hof receive social welfare in comparison to the rest of the country.
